Kayaking

Head down to the Warrego River for a fun kayaking event that winds it way down the watercourse, around Danger Island, through the Black Forest and back again, all the time skimming the flat surface of the Paroo Shire’s lifeblood.  If you would rather pace yourself then race, make sure you notice the diverse number of the birds that linger in the trees along the banks, speckled against a backdrop of overhanging branches.

Venue
Kayaking will be held on the beautiful Warrego River, with participants meeting at the north side of the Darby Land Bridge on the grassed area.  Parking is available on either side of Louise St, leading up to the bridge.  The event will travel north up the river for a kilometer and back again, with the bridge marking the finishing spot.  Spectators can watch from the levy banks or on the south side of the bridge.  As there is no walkway on the north side of the bridge it is not advisable to watch the race from this vantage point.
